Sports galas in higher education organizations play a significant role in fostering a well-rounded and holistic development of students. It ensures physical fitness, stress reliever, character building, networking, cultural exchange and community engagement. Also an occasion for Female and Male students to turn up in their best colourful attire and outfits.
Surprisingly the City of Sialkot has no smog issues and seeing the weather forecast Annual sports Gala of (PSKT01) Virtual University Sialkot Campus was planned for November 30, 2023. A day earlier the weather forecast showed partially cloudy weather with thunder showers. Lot of hard work and planning had been invested and Shukar Alhamdulillah had a wonderful Sports gala sometimes greeted with a light shower and in a mix of sunny and cloudy day. The event drew a sizable crowd of both male and female students, creating an inclusive and lively atmosphere. Various games were planned, catering to different interests and talents. From the intense clashes on the cricket field to the thrilling football penalty shoot-outs and from the gripping battles of arm wrestling to the ever-popular tug of war, every moment was filled with energy and excitement. Other highlights included the Chakkar pe Chakkar, Dart Board game and the push up competition.
In the cricket match, the Sialkot Strikers emerged champion, showcasing exceptional teamwork and skill. The cheers and applause from the spectators resonated across the ground as the winning team celebrated their victory.
The female participants demonstrated their agility and finesse in games such as Spoon race, Paper cup game, Balloon Competition, Water straw competition, Goal Gappa eating competition, and Cold drink Competition. The tug of war on the female side was equally intense and exciting. Mehndi competition showcased artistic talent, while Arm Wrestling brought thrill among spectators.
Delicious lunch was served to the students. Spontaneous rain shower added an extra layer of fun and excitement to the proceedings, turning the event into an unforgettable experience. Laughter echoed through the ground as students embraced the rain and continued their spirited participation in the games.
At the end, the prize distribution ceremony was held for the appreciation of students and organizers who made this event memorable with their excellent performance. The CEO Sohail Khan distributed trophies & shields to the winners and certificates to Organizers. The CEO also expressed his gratitude towards the SPS Administration for extending their support and facilities for the Annual Sports Gala. This moment marked the conclusion of a day filled with camaraderie, competition, and celebration.
