Orientation Classes and Computer Lab Sessions for Fall 2019 Admissions was conducted On 14th, 15th and 16th October 2019 in MORNING and EVENING sessions. Computer Connection Institute Virtual university Sialkot Campuses arranged multiple orientation sessions making the Students aware “How Pakistan’s First ON-LINE University Conducts its mode of Academics purely Based on principle of ICT”. Emphases was how the most renowned universities like MIT, Howard, and Yale are switching over to ON-LINE education and all over the world MOOC’s, Coursera, edx are being introduced for basically three reasons:-
1. Education is a fundamental human right, should be accessible anywhere, any time and affordable to everyone so that everyone could get the skills they need to make better life for family and himself.
2. Second, learning should be lifelong we should learn to expand our mind and change our life. Finally, this would enable the wave of innovation because amazing talent can be found anywhere.
3. May be the next albert Einstein or next Steve jobs is living somewhere in your city/village and if we could offer that person education he would be able to come up with next big idea and make this world better place for all of us.
Over 600 students attended these sessions. It was aimed at making students comfortable and familiar with new and revolutionized mode of education and to eradicate ambiguities and confusions arise in the mind of students about online education. Each session began with introduction of faculty and demonstration of VULMS (Learning Management System). The CEO in his address congratulated and welcomed all the students. He said that considering the population and demand for Quality Higher Education and whatever constraints as we cannot build every month a brick and mortar university and provide Qualified Faculty. ON-LINE education is the way to go forward. He then in his address outlined the value of ICT in our life. He said Just think how much things have changed in the past 20 years. We are just beginning to enter a new realm: the Internet of Everything (IoE). Internet and computer have radically changed everything from banking, Entrepreneurship, medical to education etc. He emphasized once our students become expert in VULMS (Virtual University Learning Management System) then they can attempt all ON-LINE courses provided by MIT and Stanford and other world renowned universities.
